A Little Note
- MystikaL @ 10:15:06 PM EST
I saw the counter and it was at 617 or so last time I checked. I am going to publish this page into tons of search engines as much as I can and advertise like mad. I may even post an ad in our local newspaper. Who knows. If you have any suggestions on how to make us more noticed, let us know!
New Sites over at PHL!
- MystikaL @ 09:55:07 PM EST
Ok I Lied, 1 more post for the night. I promise, only 1 more.
Anyway, back to the subject. Over at PlanetHalf-Life.com, I noticed a really really tasty new story by Fragmaster. There are two new sites hosted by PHL.
Counterstrike Skins - A site that offers new skins for a really kick ass mod entitled Counterstrike.Counterstrike. The site has new stuff for the player models, weapons, and even hostages! They even have a farmer!
Nakatomi Plaza - A single player TC set inside a 40 story skyscraper filled with terrorists. Kick ass! Now thats what I call fun. You have to take on the terrorists while still making sure you rescue the hostages and your kidnapped wife. Whoa, thats a new one. Anyway, It sounds kick ass, and yes I like that saying. Check it out.
Absolute Terror Test Release
- MystikaL @ 09:44:30 PM EST
The Symbiosys Software has the release of Absolute Terror Test 1, a new 3d Accelerated shoot-em-up style game. The reason for the test release is to tweak the game engine and gameplay before releasing the game, and to test the combatibility with other systems. While its supposed to be fun to play, this isnt a full demo, which will be released in due course. The game uses an Open GL engine and has been in development for 18 months. Symbiosys is already starting development on their next game, a LithTech-Engine Military-theme team play action game.
This is MystikaL, signing out for the night. More news from MystikaL tommorow. Heh, Seeya

New TFC Map!
- MystikaL @ 12:52:18 PM EST
I am sure all of you have heard of Half-Life and most have heard of Team Fortress Classic. Valve worked wonders with their modified engine and now we have another great map done not by Valve, but by the author of the popular map Darkness. His name is Mathew Armstrong, and he has the TFC map to beat.
The Map name is Betrayed and I aggree totally with Radium, this map surpasses valve's Hunted map in many ways. It scored a 95%, the highest rated TFC Map EVER!
Betrayed: The Review!

Total Annihilation: Kingdoms
- The-Impaler @ 10:39:04 AM EST
High off their success from Total Annihilation, Cavedog wasted no time in getting back into the game with another real-time strategy game. Even though it has absolutely nothing to do with the original title, they named their new game, set in a fantasy world, Total Annihilation: Kingdoms to tell purchasers that they could expect the same level of excellence from this product as they enjoyed in the company's last release.
The graphics look great. And personally I think the story line is pretty cool.
It looks alot of fun.
You can go check out IGN's review here
There are also numerous images of the gameplay, so go check it out.
Force 21 Demo
- Falcon @ 02:14:22 AM EST

The Year is 2015. World War III is About To Begin. China has invaded Russia to capture its vital economic resources. Only you and Force 21 can take it back! Force 21 is a Real-time 3D Tactical Wargame that combines strategic and tactical play to take you into the future of war. You command an American or Chinese armored force, and control up to 16 platoons of tanks, helicopters, artillery, combat engineers, and electronic warfare units.

New Game Coverage
- The-Impaler @ 10:58:15 PM EST
I've been playing an online game called Archmage for a couple months now. And it seems to be pretty worthy of being on Game Surge. I will be opening a section about it on Game Surge. And it includes Tips, Strategies, and Questions/Help ect... The game itself is a webpage, and one of the best things about it is that its totally free, you don't have to pay anything! You don't have to buy any software or nothing. It is kind of complicated to play at first, but after awhile you begin to understand it, and you'll soon be hooked on it.

Diablo News

There has been a new Diablo 2 review done by Computer Gaming Online. You can find
it here
- Over at Diabloii.Net, RexLaww has written
another chapter in his story: "The
Brother's Revenge."
- Here's a interesting little post I found at Yegg's
Tavern:
"First of all, to clear things up for US and international PC Gamer
subscribers, the UK version of PC Gamer is not in any way affiliated with
the US version of PC Gamer. It's a separate publishing, not affiliated with
Imagine Press. Secondly, the screenshots reported are about 9 months old,
believe it or not.
The first multiplayer shots released were in October 1998, seen here and here.
The first of these is the one eVILINTENT is talking about (sorceress and the
paladin). The screenshot with the Amazon in the samurai gear was released
13 months ago in June 1998, and incidentally, if You take a look at the screenshot
carefully here, you'll see the horns belong to someone else =).
All is not lost however. The information about the new quest, Act III underwater
level, and the level of NPC personalities are all relatively fresh revelations,
so take heed and wait for that scan =). "
- Diablo2.Org seems to be down at the moment. Here's
the post off of Diablo II Realm:
"We are having a bit of a crisis over at the Diablo II Graveyard, and I was
hoping You would help me get the word out so we can correct the problem. Our
diablo2.org domain went down some time this week - we're not actually sure
when - and has rendered that url inaccessible for the past few days. Slap
us for missing it - we normally access the site through our other url, http://www.gyard.com.
Because of this problem, I really need some help getting the word out to our
fans and our viewers so that there is no more confusion. If You would please
post a message on your news page, so that our viewers know what's going on,
I would greatly appreciate it."
- The Graveyard has just released a translation
of the French Magazine's PC Force article
on DiabloII.

Prepare for a barrage of all round gaming news, courtesy of shiva, who has gracoiusly let me use his news since his site, Ancient Nation is down for the weekend.
First with the Starcraft news:

"The Blizzard Network is proud to announce an advanced fansite listing
script that will let you add your site, search for keywords like yahoo, be
part of a mailing list, page ratings, and more! Even though we are not yet
open, we would like those who are reading this and have Blizzard Game-related
pages to try out this. Please note that this operation is still in Beta, so
please expect some bugs in the script. It is also bare-boned and with no layout
since we are getting a brand-spanking new layout. So those who have sites
please go to: http://www.blizznet.com/fansite/pages/
and sign up"
- 2 more games have been played in the Tournament... Muzel[Sg] defeats A5-SSiBangSe,

They are also looking for more staff as well.
- It's a shame watching StarCraft
Millennium totally die.
- Here's a email post about The
Feared's new 2on2 Tournament:
"Hey guys. I am currently running The-Feared tourneys, and the 2nd tourney

- There's a new series of Fonts done for StarCraft. I pulled this off of StarShack
just now from some guy named Steve:
"Hi, I've created a gold SC style font. It's like the original SC font
but well, it's gold! I took the original Silver set, turned it gold, and made
a lower case set for it then made the background transparent so it can be
used over any background you want! I've got 8 other colors as well. And more
in the making..."

Homeworld Review
- Falcon @ 07:34:24 PM EST
UGN3D has posted a review on the Homeworld Beta.
Geneticists soon find that the DNA present in their people does not match anything else on the planet and could not have occurred naturally on Kharak. In the next few years, something amazing happens. An orbital satellite discovers something very large buried beneath the earth and the people of Kharak begin to excavate it. What they find later on is that it is a starship. What is most shocking about this is that the technology is many years beyond what they have available at the current time, yet it seems as if the ship was designed to support their race. When they date the ship, they find that it is many thousands of years old and in the ship's computer logs, they discover that they were not spawned from this barren world at all. They were brought to Kharak thousands of years ago by this starship...

UED Military Academy Commandant's Log
(Commandant Miloshek) "Gentlemen, we need to give our cadets a new challenge in the training simulators this week. Suggestions?"
(Major Kilbourne) "Well, sir, it has been several weeks since we have had any deep space combat simulations. The last few exercises have mostly been recreations of ground battles."
(CM) "An excellent idea, but I'd like to throw a twist into this sim."
(MK) "Did you have anything specific in mind, sir?"
(CM) "Hmm... give our Cadets an extreme amount of resources to start the campaign with so they won't feel the need to expand, but then create the additional resource nodes with even more Minerals and Vespene gas. Those that choose to expand should gain a huge advantage over those who simply stay put. I want battlefield commanders that are always on the move, gentlemen -- ones that are always looking for an edge in combat."
(MK) "Very well, sir. We'll have the scenario programmed for this afternoon's exercise."

IE:Easter Egg
- Falcon @ 02:17:59 AM EST
Not gaming related, but I thought it was interesting.
I'm not sure how well known this is, but this is something I stumbled across recently - The Internet Explorer Easter Egg. You'd probably be wondering what the heck i'm talking about, so here it is: (BTW, IE5 users only, I havent tested IE4)
1. Select the "Tools" menu then "Internet Options..."
2. Press the "Languages..." button (near the bottom of the
"General" tab)
3. Press the "Add..." button
4. In the "User Defined" field, type in "ie-ee" (without the
quotes) then click "OK"
5. Use the "Move Up" button to move ie-ee to the top of the list
6. Press "OK" buttons until you're back in IE5, then click on the
"Search" icon on the toolbar
7. Click the "Previous Searches" option for fun stuff!
8. For more fun, click the "Customize" button in the Search window
9. If you get lost in the sub pages while playing, you can press
the "New" button in the Search window
I wont spoil your fun by telling you what exactly it is, but it's as the name says, and you can find some ... er... interesting MS Staff pictures and names.
Heres a hint, the deeper you go, the more "it" will open.
Btw, Please give us the credit if you post about this.

Play Custom TA:K Music
- Falcon @ 12:56:31 AM EST
From the TA:Kingdoms Page
"I've found out how to use your own music in TAK. I haven't been able to use mp3s yet, but you can convert them to wavs and insert them into the music directory of Kingdoms. You can either use a program like Audiograbber (downloadable at mp3.com) or use the latest versions of Winamp to decode an mp3 into a wav. In order to do this, go to the Preferences menu by hitting Ctrl-P, go to the Output menu under Plugins, and select the Nullsoft Disk Writer plug-in. Select a directory for the wav to go to, and then play an mp3. It will automatically be converted into a wav file in the directory you chose. It'll be big, around 4-8
times as big as the mp3 file you converted, so this isn't for people with really small hard drives. Anyway, once you have the wav files, you need to rename them "trackX" where X is a number between 1-20. Start at 1, moving up. Move the music tracks from Kingdoms out of the Music directory, and move your new wav files into the music directory. Once you start Kingdoms, the music should play fine. I tried this with some music from my Jedi Knight CD, it wound up around 25 megs and seemed to play fine, no really noticeable performance hit compared to the normal music."
