GameGear Strategy Page - shiva @ 11:02 pm ESTAnother day, another Strategy section has been added, this time it's for the GameGear. I will mention that going through 10,000 text files and converting them to HTML is not fun, but I'm anal, so I'm making very good progress. Also, I may have at least one more section up tonight, and maybe more, as a couple of sections just need linking up to be done. We are starting to head towards the "big stuff", so it should be a great week for you strat fans. I'm just putting up the files that are already sorted, but I should mention that there's still a lot of files that I have to go through, and add, convert, etc. These are mostly cheats and codes, and it looks like there's almost a equal amount to the "done" portion. In other words, this could take months.... Genesis section very shortly.

GameBoy Strategies - shiva @ 2:06 am ESTOnce again, another new addition to our Strategy Section, this time the GameBoy has been added. The new strategy section features loads of manuals and walkthroughs, and weighs in at a nice and hefty 4.4 Megs.We will continue to add more sections over the next little while, as we concentrate on getting the old Ancient Nation content fully up. Our next strategy section is slated to be a smaller one, and it will be on the Sega GameGear. Look for that to appear within the next couple of days.

Files added to Strategy Section - shiva @ 2:40 am ESTPart 3 of our new Strategy Section has now been placed up, this time our files section. We have support for over 50 systems, but sometimes it's way to much, so I have placed some of the older systems files, and zipped them up, and am offering you for download. These range from the Atari 2600, thru the Amiga and Fairchild, and ends at the Sega Saturn. A lot of this information is VERY scarce, so if you have a older system, you can head over to our Strategy Files Section.

Dreamcast Strategies Now Up - shiva @ 5:14 am ESTDespite the fact my wife busted me, I managed to finish and place up our newest portion to our Strategy Section, our new Dreamcast section. Though mainly a lot of walkthroughs, and a handful of manuals, it's a good start. In case you haven't noticed, it turned out differently than the Arcade Strategy section, so I also redid the Arcade section, and split the pages to make things easier to find, without having a massive download just to view our files. I think, instead of messing around with it more, I will just start on getting the rest of the files in, with the next group being our files section. These are zipped copies of "older" systems, which officially take up way too much room, but to be trueful, I just didn't feel like working on them at the moment. There's about 25 to 30 older systems there, and some are VERY HARD to find. It's without a doubt, the best overall collection of it's kind, so if either you or one of your friends are looking for information on a older system, like the Apple 2, Odyssey, or whatever, this is the place to go. Also, if you look to the left, there's a new menu under the Strategy box. I've listed the sections for ease of use, and I have added the strategy news to the main Strategy page. I haven't linked anything to the main page, because I haven't fiqured out a way yet that I like. Also, you will also notice that there's no right side bar to the new pages. To prevent bitching, especially from any staff, the reason is simple. The files come from .txt files, and though they have all been converted to HTML, they are still "preformated", so people at 800x600 won't have to scroll sideways to view the files. You think I was gonna reformat every file? Not a chance. ( Also, if you noticed at 800x600, the news page needed to be scrolled sideways the last couple of days. That was because someone changed the set-up to the CGI, so every time someone mades the main headline too large, it forces the screen sideways. It's the same thing with the strategy page. ) Which brings me to this. I have mentioned I would like some help with this section. It's a monster already, weighing in at over 100 megs, but there's no way I have the time to gather new strategies. To be honest, this is one scary section in it's size. I have had a couple of offers, but once they really see the size of this thing, they sort of put me on "ignore" on their ICQ, and I never hear from them again. I've got this down to a fine art in converting them over, but I still need people to gather the material. Any brave souls can contact me at shiva@gamesurge.com.

The Strategy Section Returns - shiva @ 11:33 pm ESTWell, after a week of swearing, kicking the computer more than several times, and wishing I was dead a couple more, I finally got the strategy section up, or at least part of it. I just loaded in the Arcade Section, and so far, it works. I have still got a ways to go, as I'm still refining the design, but I thought you might like a preview of the strategy section, and also to send me some comments as well. The reason for the delay was very simple. The CGI only did htm pages, but our code was SSI. I was forced to redo the entire thing, from translating the text to .HTM and then .SHTML, adding META tags, replacing entire portions of the code, and trying to get everything linked right. I think it looks a lot better though, and shortly, will be starting the next section, which is another small section on the Dreamcast. Note, that since I was redoing everything anyway, a lot of the links still point to the old pages. Once I settle on a few things, then I will re-link everything back up. This link is the only active link to the new pages, as it's just a preview.
